The Wonderful World of Coffee

Every week I couldn't wait for the weekends to come since I always go to visit my Aunt Maggie at her country home and spend some time with her, She has the same interest as me so we always ended up chatting about usual stuffs such as our view on religion, gardening skills and experiences, the art of Feng Shui and many other topics. When she is busy attending to her garden, I would just watch her at work and admire how beautiful and tidily kept her garden was. When she feels tired she would just sit and rest at the patio, where she kept a beautiful set furniture made out of teak wood.

Her collection of teak furniture for her patio consists of one big rectangular shaped teak table and also six chairs made out of, what else, teak wood. At the corner there is a small magazine rack and one small table where she keeps her special decorations which consist of a wonderfully colored water bowl where she further decorates with floating candles and beautiful flowers. The whole set of furniture are all designed wonderfully with flower designs and it seemed perfect to me. No wonder Aunt Maggie and her family always have their breakfast here. If I happen to be there at her house during teatime, she would invite me to drink her green tea together with her, while eating the wonderfully made pastries done by her daughter.

I marveled at her simple yet artistic taste.

"The best time to buy anything in this town is to go right before the festive seasons. There are a lot of patio furniture shops around town so you can go around looking for good bargains then, especially if you are looking for outdoor collections. But for this particular set, I purchased it online. I find it cheaper rather than buying at shops which offers almost the same design," She told me.

"Appreciate the advice, but I don't think I will buy any teak furniture soon although I love to. Mum doesn't think much of the weird smell that comes with the teak wood so I don't think she will appreciate me buying some for the house", I told her. She just smiled and said what a pity; my mum doesn't know what she is missing. Suddenly, I think back to some of the teak fittings I saw at a shop a few days ago. There are a few great choices available now, ranging from outdoor teak sets, beach chair, small tables, delicate shoe racks and many other different type of handily crafted teak wood furniture. Suddenly, I felt pity for myself too.

I can see from her collection that Aunt Maggie likes to mix her collection of teak furniture. She has fixtures ranging from classical designs, to the modern era teak furnishing to the more contemporary designs. Teak furniture are special because they are more exquisite and beautiful compared to fittings made from other materials, they do what they are supposed to do and most importantly they last very long, Aunt Maggie tells me. That I have to agree. From the same website she also purchased her garden benches, which has the same characteristics of all her teak furniture. Unsophisticated designs, yet full of artistic sense.

They are easy to clean and maintain too, Aunt Maggie added.

Teak wood settings can be used to enhance the overall presentation of a home, no matter the outdoor part or the indoor part. Careful selection and matching the correct combination of teak furnishings can really add to the livelihood of the space in the home or the garden. Aunt Maggie has a swimming pool behind her house so it is no wonder that she also purchased some teak wood chairs to compliment the overall look of her swimming pool. Beside the chairs there are also small tables for the convenience of guests or anyone using the pool. There are also umbrellas around to provide shade from the hot sunlight. The chairs really compliment the pool well since a complete swimming pool would need accompanying chairs, tables and umbrellas.

Besides the patio and her swimming pool, Aunt Maggie obviously has decided to let the teak outdoor furniture work their magic somewhere else. Inside her garden are a few teak wood benches placed in strategic areas so that her garden would look more inviting and nicer with it. Each one of Aunt Maggie's fixture is unique in their own sense and also presents a lovely touch to her home.

I asked Aunt Maggie whether she incorporated Feng Shui into her decorations and furniture arrangements; she admitted she does take Feng Shui into consideration when decorating her home, both indoors and outdoors. She moderately applied the principles of Feng Shui to create a serene and balanced environment at her home. She believes this will enhance the luck of the home residents. However, she always takes care not to overdo it, because imbalance would create bad energy.

Setting the certain piece of fixtures in a right way can bring good "karma" and then bring good luck to the people living in the house, Aunt Maggie told me. She had attended classes and studied the art of Feng Shui before thus she is using the knowledge to help her family have more luck.

People are choosing to purchase teak furniture because of their stylishness and because they can last longer than other fittings. Personal styles and identities always affect the choices of people in making purchases. Besides that, teak patio sets are getting more widely known for its comfort, that they can serve their purpose well and they look good as well.
